Carnegie acted as exclusive financial adviser to DS Gruppen

Carnegie advised DS Gruppen in its divestment of DS SM to US-based Valmont Industries. DS SM manufactures and co-engineers heavy complex steel structures for a diverse range of industries. Its business is based on its unique ability to co-engineer and design solutions with customers, carry out advanced order production and having highly automated series production.

DS SM’s revenue was DKK 903m in 2012/13 with an EBITDA of DKK 130m.


DS Gruppen was founded by Svend Møller Hansen in 1969 and in 1998 DS Gruppen acquired DS SM. The Group is one of Europe’s leading industrial groups in the development, production and sale of steel and concrete constructions for buildings.


Valmont Industries is listed on NYSE and is one of the world’s leading providers of engineered products and services for infrastructure, and irrigation equipment for agriculture
