Coop Danmark A/S has successfully raised DKK 1,550m through an agreement with OK a.m.b.a. and its current owners, Coop amba. As part of the transaction, Coop Danmark A/S has agreed to sell Coop Byen II to OK a.m.b.a. adding an additional DKK 565m in capital to the company. The transaction enables Coop Danmark to execute its new strategy and advance investments in the core business after some challenging years. Further, the transaction will simplify the governance structure by separating the business and Coop amba association.
OK a.m.b.a. will continue to support Coop’s agenda of contributing to a better society by providing competitive prices, safe, convenient, and transparent options, healthy alternatives and be a sustainability frontrunner within grocery retail by integrating sustainability into all aspects of its actions and operations.
